What is direct primary care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a new primary care model that takes the practice of medicine back to its roots. The goal is simply good care. A DPC practice takes insurance and bureaucracy out of the doctor/patient relationship. How? By not accepting or billing health insurance. Instead, we charge a low monthly membership fee. No more copays, complicated scheduling, lack of access, or billing confusion. This is more like a monthly gym membership…but with your doctor.
DPC model is all about access to your doctor on YOUR terms and when YOU are ready. Don’t feel like coming in for a visit? Just send Dr. Wingerter a text. Rather discuss something over the phone? Great. Want to email over more details? Feel free. Hate to leave the house, but want to see your doctor face-to-face? A virtual video meeting is a great option. We believe traditional health insurance should still be there when you need it. Serious illness and expensive unanticipated events are always a risk. We simply believe you can enhance your healthcare experience with a combination of a DPC and a high-deductible insurance plan. We feel strongly, insurance should not interfere with routine primary and preventative care by specifying which doctor you can see, reducing access to your doctor, shortening office visits, and increasing costs.
